I came up with an idea this morning after reading what has been written of the plot so far. I originally posted it on Skype, and so I decided to document it on here as well.
What if Warren Sangria had a sister (after voicing my idea on Skype, we decided that she would be his twin) who was the opposite of a necromancer(I'm not quite sure what the terminology for that is), and thus she works against him. However, she does not have any desire to work with Layton, and instead warns him to stay out of her way and let her handle the situation, saying something along the lines of "Stay out of my way, and I'll have no reason to oppose you as well."
After expanding on the idea even further, we decided that she would be in some form of disguise, as Warren had assumed her to be dead, along with his parents.

That actually sounds like a pretty awesome idea. I'll back it. XD

I think the term is a theurgist, or life magician; I'm not entirely certain, though. I definitely back the idea, as I mentioned in Skype. (BTW, my skype is Elliot Nightray, I can't stay with one username.)

Hi. I can write. I can play clarinet and I don't know if I can sing, but I don't think so.

I'm sorry, this might be a stupid question, but who is Warren Sangaria?

I second that. I'm sorry, but since I don't have a Skype, I have absolutely no idea what's going on. Do you think maybe you could post a recap of your Skype plotting session...?

I think that, perhaps, we should first have episodes focused on existing characters. It's more important to correctly characterize Layton, Luke, and the others before adding adding OC's that may overshadow them.

I agree, it is the Layton animation project after all.

I think we should first determine the plot (Are Layton and Luke going on a new adventure of are we going to showcase their non-adventure life? What already cannon characters do we want to bring back?) and then add our own characters once we have that down. If we start by creating our own characters and then try to build the story around them, it's more difficult and we are more likely to get lost. I'm not saying you guys should stop making OCs though. You can still do that, I'm just saying that it shouldn't be our main focus right now.
Sorry for super long post >~<

Personally, I'd love a story about Hershel in college. How did he meet Claire, or Clark, or Dr Schrader? Did he become estranged from his parents? Did he ever try to contact Angela or Henry again? How did the incident with Randall affect his future friendships? How did his first post-Randall archaeological dig go? Do his friends know about his past, or does he hide it?
There are so many possibilities there.

That sounds really interesting! We should make a list of all of our collective ideas. I've seen some people posting their ideas under the #planime tag on tumblr.

I like the college idea. I would want to see some of that too.

I'd prefer us staying to canon than using OCs, actually. I really like the College!Layton idea. We could kick off right from Layton's arrival in London, then we could go on to making him meet Clark, Dr. Schrader, Claire, and so on.
Also, can someone give me instructions on to how to 1) make a Skype account and 2) access the group chat for the anime? Thanks~

That's brilliant! Now, this is just a question, but is Layton going to have a.. Companion, so to say? I mean, a person who is like Luke or Emmy. I think we could have Clark be that person. any other ideas?

I'd go for Clark ya. It would be fun to see what he's like when he's not in so much stress.

So...shall we start thinking of the plot for the first episode?
